marsuper33
Greetings all... I just installed below parts and want to know what jets I should go with - Pro design coolhead (domes 20cc). - T5 exhaust and pipes. - K&N pods with outerwear. - Pistons 64.50mm (0.20"over) - V-force 3 (used). I noticed that exhaust pressure is not equal so I thought to check the piston pressure after 20 kick I got ( 165 )... elevation is around 500ft-1000ft I use 95 octan petrol... with mixing ratio 35:1 regarding the not equal thing I guess I have to check whether the carbs synced or maybe sparkplugs I just wanna be prepared when I start working on carbs. rubberneck
My bike when stock porting and t5s with pods at sea level: 340 mains, 25 pilots stock needle 1 notch lean from center. start with airscrews 1.5 turns out.
marsuper33
is there any chart or table or something for pressure vs jetting for example
rubberneck
Im not sure i follow, but if you are talking about the compression, generally speaking increasing compression wont require rejetting. Now if you are talking about atmospheric pressure then basically you are looking at about a 1 jet size change for every 2000 feet you go up or down. Higher altitude leaner jetting, richer as you get closer to sea level You said you are 500-1000 feet above sea level, so the jetting i listed will get you very close. As far as synching the carbs, yes it is very important to have everything clean and carbs synched to get good performance
Larry's Shee
http://www.blasterforum.com/engine-13/effects-elevation-air-pressure-how-jet-accordingly-39872/ Close as I can find, if I even understand what you're looking for I'd start 310m, 27.5p, middle clip, 1 1/2 turns. It's up to you to tune, always start rich and work down if needed. Plugs are cheaper than pistons Also look through this http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=99361 Look at other stickies in this section
rubberneck
Every motor is different, but with 310s my bike would fall flat on its face as soon as it came on the pipe. I ran 290 mains with t5s and the foam filter in the stock box with vents. When i put the K&Ns on i originally went up to 310s and it was way lean on top, straight to 330s and it ran great. Plug chop looked a bit light, so i went up to 340s and plug chop confirmed it was spot on. I couldnt believe that the pods made that much difference but they did. Your results may vary. I did not find the t5s to need a fatter pilot. Interesting how everybodys bike like different things
bansheesandrider
Ther is no magic chart or formula for jettiing. EVERY bike is different even with the same mods and/or pipes. You can follow the suggestions already made and it will get you close, but you will still need to do plug chops to make sure it is right. As for your compression, I would not worry about it until the rings have seated and it is broken in. When you check compression, remove both spark plugs, hold the throttle wide open and kick it until the needle quits moving.
Strm Trpr
My bike when stock porting and t5s with pods at sea level: 340 mains, 25 pilots stock needle 1 notch lean from center. start with airscrews 1.5 turns out. Just curious as to why you are running 340 mains at sea level with T5's and stock cylinders? I notch lean from middle means the clip is on the second groove from the top right? Do you have Reeds? Do you have head mods? Do you have the timing advanced? Is it because of the pods gave it more air? I have a completely stock motor w/T5's, Toomey's Needles with the clip one groove down from the middle, Toomey's 1 into 2 Air Intake w/Uni Filter and an Outer Wear, (no air box) and I run 280 mains and 25 pilots at sea level, and I feel it to be a little rich, or maybe it's lean I don't know haven't really rode it yet. Plan to do maintenance this weekend. Wow, that totally looks like I didn't read the entire thread. Sorry about that. I opened a bunch of new tabs hours ago and finally got around to reading them. Hope you don't mind. Edited March 26, 2012 by Strm Trpr

Hope you don't mind. No worries, i was surprised too, but the bike wanted what it wanted. When i had a uni filter in the stock box with toomey vents in in, i ran 290 mains. Exact condition at that time for the jetting specs i listed above were as follows. T5 pipes timing advanced 4 degrees, stock reeds and porting, stock head. float levels set to factory spec and carbs synched. Pismo Beach (elevation 0)mid 60 degree temps. Yes clip was up (needles dropped) one notch from middle position. I needed to do that as when i went to the larger main it developed a sllight bog right before the pipe would come on. Bike ran like a raped ape for the 4 days we were there including many blasts down the drag strip pounding on my buddies LTR and my brother in laws 660 craptor. Next trip out 1st day crank separated and that led to a complete overhaul. Funny thing is my buddy put a pipe on the LTR thinking he would kick my ass next trip out, but he didnt know that the overhaul includied having jeff at FAST do a duneport. Talk about waking that little motor up He was really pissed, i told him i didnt change anything and that the pipe he got must have caused him to lose power

I have a similar situation that I am looking forward to this year. My buddy also has an LTR and last year we were neck and neck. He said this year hes gonna have a pipe and some other stuff so he is gonna smoke all over me............he doesn't know I'm gonna go the 4mil ported route and I'm also not gonna tell him I changed anything.
