G-Torque
Just need a little tip on how to set the air on carbs... Just bought it and it was missfiring... Coudnt reach power band ... They rebuild top end with wiseco ... Put tomey T-5 exhaust ... And change throtle to twist... The quad sounds like out of time or bad spark plugs.... Mi power at all. I change the plugs... Change the fuel.. problem still the same ... Somebody here told me to check the sync on carbs and I found that they cross the sync cilinders ( I don't know the name ) left on right carb and viseversa. I put them where they go and sync carbs. Now they open nice together but quad won't start at all... They might mess around with the air needles trying to set it to idle or so. My question is how I know they are where they suppose to be ... I have a clymer but it doesn't specify ... Also how u would know I have the wright jettings for Tomey T-5 exhaust ? Any help or tips I would greatly apreciate... Also I want to take pictures as I go just in case somebody else need help ... So far I think I'm heading the wright direction. Thanks guys... Jereme6655
the air screw should be around 1.5-2 turn out from lightly bottoming it out. so turn those puppies in until they GENTLY bottom out (they damage easily) and back them out a few turns. only way ive ever been able to get the air screws set right was throwing a screwdriver under the seat and test and adjust.....test and adjust...haha
Larry's Shee
Who is "they". If "they" can't figure it out "they" shouldn't be fucking with it . Did "they" put the choke crossover tube back on? 3 inch tube between both carbs directly across from choke knob. Also is correct float bowls on correct carb? Left bowl has a "BB" on the front of bowl. Did you set float level? And is brass washer under both main jets?
