kschleyer
hey guys new here hope you guys can help! Let me first say i have been searching all over the internet and have not found much helpful input. I have a 95 shee with torrs removed. Was riding it last fall one weekend everything was fine, the next weekend it wouldnt start. it would kick over a few times but wouldnt stay running, so i said f-it and ill look at it in the spring..... In the last couple of weeks i went through all the wirirng and everything check out fine besides the secondary side of the ignition coil because i dont have an ohm meter that reads that high. So i figured it was the cdi box, bought a new one(forget what brand, its red) and it didnt solve the problem. So i move on to the next, ignition coil. ordered a new one from ricky stator. Got it last night and hooked it up and she fired right up, thought everything was good, let it run for about twenty mins and then put it away for the night. So today i tought id clean it up and put everything back together and take it for a spin... Wrong, fired up let it warm up for a min, rode it to the end of my driveway and it fell on its face and died. Tried kicking it over again and it turned over a few times and nothing. Checked for spark and there was none. Checked wiring again still all good. Wtf is the problem?
sheerider11
The problem is your just throwing parts at it. Did you check all the connections? The grounds? You did buy a shit ricky part and a UN known cdi.
Surfrjag
Check for rusty flywheel pickups and pickup gap. 018" check grounds and compression. Ohm the stator or swap with a known good one. Oem components if possible.
Infamous039
Give some things to look at first 1. Check Your Ground wire, make sure if thing has a good ground 2. Check You Pick coil gap 3. Check that the stator is crapping out on you 4. Check to make sure the harness has not cuts in it no where.

kschleyer
the reason i didnt buy oem parts was because i am looking to get rid of the quad, could really use the extra cash right now and couldnt justify spending hundreds of dollars, didnt know these aftermarket companies were that shitty. All the conectors are good and so are the grounds. Stator is nice and clean, readings are within specs, pick-up gap and surface is good also. I metered out all the wires and none of them are grounded out, besides the grounds obviously. The only thing i think may have messed something up, is i only mounted the coil with one of the screws. Could this of caused the problem? Im going to get a kohm meter tonight and see if this coil went bad also..Just crap parts?? thanks for all your input
