kerv19
i think gonna stick with the porting, sprocket change, ported reed cages with new petals and tors eliminate. save the 4mil stroker build until next winter since i just put new pistons in it last june
Strm Trpr
Banshee crankshafts are pressed together from the factory and rely on interference fits between the connecting rod pins and the counter weights to hold it together. With the extra power your motor will be putting out from the porting, the increased compression from the head being milled and the timing advance, your crankshaft can potentially come apart. Send your crankshaft to whoever is doing your porting so they can true and weld it for you. You may just want to box up your entire motor and have them build it for you. That's what I plan to do. I also sent Kevin a similar email with questions about his 4mil set ups. He has a couple different choices or paths to go so as long as your questions are specific he will definately point you in the right direction. I asked about bearings, carbs, clutch, trans, and what he would recommend for the categories I just mentioned for the different packages he offers. Just be specific and you can't go wrong. Larry's Shee
Couple things to think about. Check with your porter that he can re-do porting when you go 4mil, sometimes they can't depending on original porting. Good call on pistons for now, most 4mil are long rod needing different pistons. kerv19
i figured i would hold off until next winter when im not riding it to pull the motor and do a complete 4mil build. for right now im gonna get it ported and pray to god that it blows up so i have a reason to pulll the motor i will have to check with kevin at hjr to see if he can re port when i want to do a 4mil build, i hope he can because i need a little more power for the dunes this year. for some reason last year my banshee ripped 1-5 but once i hit 6th gear it fell on its face and would only bog down and im still confused at what it could be.
