breaking it in, want it to handle better.

Recommended Posts

I just got my banshee all rebuilt with new pistons, all new seals and a ton of performance parts. I really want to make it handle better, im making a trail quad out of it. A buddys going to sell me a anti-vibration steering stem, im looking into new shocks, +2 a arms, and a +4 swingarm. Anyone know where i can get this stuff for cheap (not junk cheap, but doesnt have to be best brand) and also if therez anymore handling mods i can do, please inform me.

I was in more or less the same boat.. Wanted good stuff but was on a budget! I went with +2+1 full flight arms, elka front shock, and tusk 2" rear wheel spacers.( this is a kit thats offered from full flight)For the rear swingarm i went with a +4 wolfs metal fabrication swinger. Its a real heavy duty swingarm witch i love for trails. It uses the factory style carrier witch will save you a couple bucks and is a direct bolt on.Im very happy with the performance gains in the handling department!! All the parts that i listed i would definetly recommend for anyone looking for a real nice trail setup on a budget!!

for trails start with the stock swing arm and have the rear shock rebuilt and setup for you.

for the front stuff just be patient, i got a nice set of chrome LSR arms for $200. way better then full flights with heims. the shocks i got for $250 i think but they ended up needing rebuilt so i have about 450 into them. it is so much more forgiving in when you come down hard on the front end. it just soaks it up and keeps the bike planted.

YFZ shocks on banshee a-arm will mess up the balljoint as they are too long. You end up binding the joints, and you cannot even use the shock's full droop. With the YFZ a-arm, I don't know. With my +2 +1 strong arm A-arms I can use ~1" longer shock before maxing out the joints.

As far a swingarm go, I would not go with a longer one, I have a -1 and it's a blast. You can pop the front end whenever you want and you have quite a bit more traction.

I am now confused. You said those arms got sold, then said you still have it as a reminder???? I was talking about adding the YFZ a arms and the YFZ shocks. Not mixing parts.
