looking to buy

Recommended Posts

i am looking at buying a 2001 Yamaha Banshee 10 mm stroker. it has about 15 hours on a fresh rebuild. Wiseco forged crank. it is only bored 20 over with a shaved stock head. banshee is still running stock carbs and reeds. I asked the person selling it why put a 10 mill in a basic stock banshee engine. He told me he was builting a sleeper. no port work... banshee is a one owner with title and guy is in his late 40's. what would you offer him? What power would you think it is running? thanks

A thinner gasket on the base would LOWER the port timings even more than stock. If the motor doesn't have a spacer plate under the cylinder, then it's all BS and more than likely totally stock.

I've known people to go look at bikes that were claimed to be totally built, and with nothing more than a 13 tooth front sprocket, it will feel like it rips on pavement. It wouldn't be hard to check the facts before you buy.
