252wheelieking
If you have .060 squish that is generally more than we run but not bad if its just a play bike. We usually run around .040-50 give or take .005 . If it is cranking 150 without ever being ran then dont worry about it. It would be 10 or 20 more with a warm broken in motor. A 421 usually runs a 12 to 20 thous gasket depending on the builder. Other than squish clearance, what will change between using a .012 & .020 base gasket? 252wheelieking
interesting ,make sure you have cub domes cut for a blaster piston Ok I have 22cc cub domes that was cut for a 421 cub, but I have a .020 base gasket. I thought I suppose to use a .012 base gasket. My concern is how much will my performance change from the change of port timing also? sleeper06
you wont be able to feel it,the only time it comes into play is porting goals and engine set-up,if you have a desired squish your builder likes to use and he ported the cylinders with a certain gasket on the wheel stick to it

He didnt explain to me why he runs the .020 base gasket instead of the .012. Reason I was questioning it is because, im not the type to just go with a set-up just because someone said so. I like to learn as much as possible about my build & understand the reason for the combination of parts. Hope that makes sense.
