jwharris
ok still new to banshees heres what i got 03 shee fmf sst fmf pipes kn air filter in stock air box with lid vforce 2 reeds wiesco pistons 65.25 mill 30 over i guess? dont know if it matters no porting stock heads stock dome and carbs (well im pretty sure stock carbs) heres the thing.. bought it, ran great temps where around 40 to 55 degrees outside. spring hits rode sunday and today temps 75 to 85 degrees. and it should stay around that until mid summer. but i believe that i may be running lean, at WOT i think it starving for fuel a bit and it become more difficult to launch with bogging(really have to have it pinned to take off) but that maybe be somewhat due to i just put brand new holeshots on it from the basically slicks that were on there. i live in central va elevation is around 140 feet above sea level any help would be awesome
n2otoofast4u
ummmm..... what jets are in it now?
special06shee
Huh? If it ran good in 40-50 degrees and not at 75ish sounds like you might be to rich. In colder temps you have to bump up on jets sizes. I would recommend finding out what jets you currenty have and post them.. There are some super knowledgeable dudes on here that will help you out from there.. But from what you said it sounds like a lean condition.. But just be certain! But just be certain! yea dont mean to be confusing with the wording. my fucking phone is hard to type on. but as far as jet siz. i have not a damn clue... is there a way to measure the jet size? also could my premix play a part into bogging? i have mixed my first few tanks at like 40 to 1. and now have mixing 36 to 1.... just cause nobody gives a direct damn answer to it. so i figure id take the middle ground. special06shee
The jets should be clearly engraved/ stamped.. Just have to take them out to see what they are. Sure premix would effect the performace. What oil you running? Different oils require different abouts usually anywhere from 32/1-50/1. I run klotz r50 at 32/1. By you adding more oil the last couple of tanks you made a richer mixture witch could be causing your problem. But its a real good idea to accually see what jets you currently have. Like i said before there are real smart dudes on here that can help you out alot! Just have to post all of your current info to give them a good idea on your current setup so they can go from there. Good luck
Larry's Shee
To be gentle, your needs would be handed to you on a gold platter. In the real world of BHQ things are a little harsher, YOU have to work at it. Do you have a Clymers or download manual? Have you tried new plugs? Have you even looked at your plugs? What did they look like? Look through this thread http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=99361 see if you can find a simular setup. Have you cleaned the fuel system? When you clean the carbs do them one at a time as parts are different. Be sure to remove the pilot jet, and record number of turns on air screw before removeal. Record all jet sizes and settings for future referance. Why would you have continued riding and launching @WOT if you thought you were running lean ? Or if you were having any problem? Educate yourself on the art of tuning a Banshee. Know how to read plugs, how to plug chop. It won't hurt to read threads it the jetting section to learn. Finch
fyi changing your mixture made your oil mix richer but your fuel leaner since your getting less fuel now and more oil.
ticktock
Jetting should be around. 25 pilots, 280 mains. Air screw .5 - 1 turn out. Are your carbs sync'd well? That's a good starting base. Mix your fuel at 40:1 do a plug chop and check the plugs. Where are you at in Va? You can DL the service manual from my sig Adam
