uonlylive1ce
I picked up my first banshee (2000 model all stock except fmf exhaust and some jetting of course) was wondering if you guys had any tips on maintaining it? I have been riding a yfz 450 for the past 4 years but i know its probably gonna be way different then that. Any suggestions on pre mix? any kind of mods for my type of riding? trails & a little track every now and then. I must say i've rode this banshee twice and its the most addictive feeling in the world lol

bluebanshee98
Port it!! And 4 mil! You won't ever look back. welcome to the madness. +1 to what he said. i went from pipes, air filter rejet ect to 4 mil crank and a dune port from hjr. HUGE difference. arm ripping power! worth every penny! a 4 mil and port job pulls soo hard when the band kicks in. totally different quad. if your compression is still good ride it till its time for a rebuild then go the 4 mil and port job route if you have the $. oh and get used to having empty pockets... this sport requires alot of cash and options are almost endless to what you can do. ride hard but safe! what size jets are in there now? what kind of air filter? is the lid and snorkel removed? more info would give you some better direction Edited March 14, 2012 by bluebanshee98

uonlylive1ce
thanks for the welcome and all the info guys! suprsingly the snorkel & lid are still on it..has a brand new twin air filter..its kinda weird because it even had the original tool kit still in it, i picked it up from a buddy of mine who JUST rebuilt it compression is great first kick every time...i ride em like i stole em everytime, and i do want it to last but if not i will definately be looking to build it! and most of the time when we ride trails its like a gncc race every time balls out...i will find out the jet size tommorrow and check back with you guys...also ive been thinking of different exhaust i love the dmc aliens, but i wanna know how to get the most bang for my buck, and also all of my friends who have owned one here are telling me to go to a single carb for the way i ride but i wanted to ask the experts before i started shopping..appreciate the info again guys and sorry for the stupid post lol

fastbanshee8
Get a Clymer's manual for it, remove all of the TORS crap, if it's still on. The TORS stuff will cause you massive headaches, if it's left on. Get a kit from one of the site sponsors, and put in the idle screws. Call FAST Racing for the kit.
