stator problems

Recommended Posts

I am in need of help with my Banshee. Ive gone through 6 stators because of the pickup coil

The magnet keeps popping off. Ive tried spacing out more ive got another known to be good flywheel. The motor is brand new so i dont think it can be crank that is messed up. I was wondering if maybe bent timing plate can cause this? I dont no what else to try please help

It is the little magnet of pickup coil that you have to gap from flywheel . The one that sends pulse threw electrical system. I have not tried to test the crank as i did not think it could be that (hoping anyway it is brand new motor). Could it be the adjustable plate that is bent where stator connects to?

and i took off the flywheel with a flywheel puller that i bought

Are you gapping it at both timing nubs? What gap are you using? Even if plate were bent your still gapping both nubs. Are you sure the screws for pic up are tight? If crank were out you wouldnt get equal gaps at the wheel.

im not using a feeler gauge to gap it i just put a thick piece of metal in there and yes it is equal on both sides. theyre pretty tight, does it use washers? i dont have washers maybe its loosening not to sure?
