What to do

Recommended Posts

I have a '96 shee, but I only have the frame, gas tank, seat, swingarm, j-ams, radiator, lights, spindles, front n rear brakes. NO MOTOR!! What should I do build it slowly and get new parts or just buy a whole quad already running. I have a yfz well 2 '05 but I miss the 2-stroke n the banshee was my 1st quad.

I just want 2 build it 2 ride around or desert. A friend of mine gave me his yfz front arms n was thinking on modifing the front suspension and getting a used stock motor n fixing it up. So what should I do.

Don't know how it is in other locations but out here in California 98 n up its a red sticker n 98 n down is a green sticker. Red is only during season n green is all year. So I have it under so I can use it all year but who rides a shee in the summer cuz it over heats

I work on my own quads now but it needed little things here n there, oil change, clutch plates, rejet n clean the carbs and etc. But never did an over haul but always wanted 2 do it n get the tools needed 4 it. Have the service manual so I want 2. People tells me I should just buy a new 1 but I would need 2 the mods after like arms shocks cuz there's some out there that don't have it, well the cheap 1s. I want 2 start from scratch n build it from the ground up but I just want 2 hear other people what they think.

I wouldn't start a build unless you have the coin to finish to your expectations other wise you will just get frustrated and end up riding your 450. Just slapping random parts together i don't think you would end up with a solid bike that would out perform what you already have. if your determined to buy a banished id just buy one that's ready to ride

I'm not getting rid of my 450's but the way I had my banshee, suspension and performance it was just like the 450. I tried selling it but no1 want it cuz I had no block with it but I have the papers 2 it n I'm still paying for ir so there's no back on it. At the same time I miss that 2 stroke smell and the extra gear it gave it when I needed it going full throttle the sand highway in glamis or the pole line down superstition mountains

You need to work on your grammar and sentence structure player. your posts are a little difficult to decipher. You didnt have the block to it? the cylinders? Bottom end? motor? try to refrain from using slang. You said you have a 96 with j arms? You could sell both of your 450's and have enough to build a sweet banshee. That's what I would do.

X-2 on the slang/ text crap. What goes in your hood isn't the same in my hood. Oh wait, I live inthe woods , got no hood.

As to the build doesn't sound like you have much to start with. Probably cheaper to start with something more complete. As to yfz arms , might want to look into it more. I've read most all posts about it and about half don't care for it. I think it's because the geometry is wrong even if they are cut and spaced.

JMHO, your results may, and will vary.

Sorry about my little slang. I'm using my phone so I have the habit of typing that way.

The reason I have a j-arm frame is because I bent the a-arm frame and a buddy of mine sold me the j-arm frame for cheap and I had blow my motor. So all I have now is some parts but not all. The only thing good I have is the pink slip and a bare frame. That's why I just bought a new quad instead of starting all over.

I tried 2 sell the stuff I had but nobody picked up on it being its a '96 pink slip but no takers. So I just decided to keep it and build it slowly. Don't really need it now since I have the 450s. I just might put it together as a roller and sell it as is. Don't know yet that's why I'm asking what would be best
