Plug chop help

Recommended Posts

I just did my first ever plug chop. When I did it, the bike felt like it was bogging down at high RPM's, had no power.

Mods are:

4 mill

cool head

FMF fatties

2-1 intake w/ 38mm pwk

6" pod w/ outerwear

Boyseen reeds stock cages

I don't even know if I'm too rich or lean, this is my first attempt at jetting.

Elevation is 819, 50 degrees out.

It wasn't cutting out, just no power in the top end.

No clue what the jets are, I wanted to see which way I need to go with them before opening it up to look and ordering new ones. (don't really know what I'm doing...)

And i did the 1-6 wot then killed it, but i didn't hold the throttle open after i killed it, I guess I'll try again next week when I have time.

That plug looks wierd. The band or ring is usually smaller. It may be very rich and washing the plug and not even getting enough heat to burn some fuel mix onto the porcelain. If you are getting huge amounts of smoke when its revved out in a high gear then it would probably be very rich. Maybe have someone watch the bike when you do your chop. You might need to do it again and make 4 or 5 passes on it once you ensure its safe.

By the looks of it that plug has a few hours on it. YOur color is good, light light tan. I would say your jetting is darn close. Throw a fresh set of plugs in, and do a true WOT test. The ring should be very thin at the base.

I gave up. I'm getting all the overtime I want at work right now. So instead of coming home to work on my banshee, I had a friend take it to a local shop to get jetted so I could stay at work and keep making $
