110 psi and 115 psi too low?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. I did a compression test on my brothers 05 SE and the compression was 110 psi and 115 psi on the other side. We are at 800 feet above sea level on a stock motor with just pipes and reeds. Can he ride it like that all summer? Or is it too low to make another summer of riding? Any thoughts? Thanks! :notworthy:

Personally, i'd keep riding it and use those numbers as your baseline. Recheck it every once in a while. As long as it stays the same, keep riding it. If it drops 5 or 10 lbs from there with the same gauge, then I'd be worried. Although 110 and 115 is low, at that elevation it's not horribly low.

I ran a beater bike @ 110psi@500ft for 1.5 years with no issues. I was just waiting for the wheels to fall off. LOL.... I rebuilt the topend, and with the same tester it was up around 128ish. That was on a beater. If it would have been a bike that I had some cash into, I would have not ran it like that.
