Larry's Shee
Reason I mentioned the rust was my son's had one side kinda random miss fire/drop. Did a bunch of things, but cleaning stator/flywheel was main thing. As you ohm things out, trim 1/4" off plug wires before putting caps back on, maybe dab of dielectric grease too. Presume lots of other suggestions, but have you checked pipes for mouse house? Edited March 10, 2012 by Larry's Shee
LawDog
I know i'm a noob but mine did that after i cleaned the air filter and repatched my gas tank. it ran fine for ten minutes while i was driving it and when i parked it and let it sit for a few minutes i put it in gear and it fell on its face. I started it and it would run give it throttle and it bogged down. try this if u can get it to start again while giving it throttle shake the whole bike like ur stuck in a mud pit. And my bike came out of it and has ran great. I figured i had loosened some shit in the tank and it was clogging the pitcock. hope this helps. 11AGUY
I installed a clear filter, so I can see it's getting fuel.... I had the pipes off and painted them and the entire time they were off the ends were taped closed... I'll check again though and check the stator and plug wires...... now that it won't start and has weak spark, I'm thinking electrical.... this is my 1st Banshee build so this has been a learning experience..... headed out to the store to pick-up a new digital multi-meter!!!!!! sheerider11
Your best bet is to swap with KNOWN good working electrical parts. a business card is a good gap for the fly wheel and pick up. And I forgot what it was but people always check one part with a meter and it test good. But is always the problem.
Jereme6655
the gap is supposed to be .018-.020 for the pickup to flywheel......but a business card like suggested works fine. Also you said you had it running and it would idle fine but fall flat out when you throttled up correct? and earleir you mentioned that you put a set of aftermarket pipes on it and yet still had stock jetting..... AFTERMARKET PIPES NEED BIGGER MAINs!.......my bike i got at a police auction.....guy had FMFs on it and stock jetting.....it would rev fine....but put it in gear and try and let out the clutch and you had to pump the shit out of the throttle to keep it running......and forget trying to ride it..... i took the stock jets and replaced them with 270's and 27.5 pilots and almost killed myself when i hit the throttle in gear.......front tires aiming toward God and me riding this things back like i was gonna die.........we'll just say it changed the charecteristics of riding it.... Yeah when I got the banshee it had stock pipes and silencers... The silencers were shot and the pipes were fine.. So due to a cash shortage I bought dg silencers and put them on the stock pipes... I will buy a set of used T-5s on here when I find them. So based in what my guy that did my cylinders and what other members stated, silencers only shouldn't change my jetting drastically... I did put carbon fiber reeds on the stock cages and bore .20 over, but besides that, that's it... I did the program under the exhaust jetting forum and it stated mains between 200-220 and pilot between 25-27.5, clip between 2-3. I have stock jetting and clip position... Now it won't start... Is going up to 26.5 pilot and 210 main going to make a huge difference???
