Bought a 93 Banshee... always wanted one.

I'd like suggestions on nerf bars and pipes.

I'm working on jetting, waiting on the TORS eliminator kit.

Was somewhat of a basket case when purchased, is running fairly well now, and narrowing down jetting. Working with my selection of jets, it came with 200s (way too lean), 220s (choke pulled 1/2 out runs very well so still lean), tried 310s for fun (no start), the only other option I have in my own stock are 240s (I hope that hits the nail on the head).

Bike now has stock pipes, K&N filter with lid and snorkel off. Pretty much bone stock, down to the thumb throttle, engine still has good power, have not done a comp test, didn't feel the need.

Forum seems great, although there is NO MEMBER INTRODUCTION SECTION... I wandered around here for quite a while wondering where I was supposed to post.

230-240 isprobably gonna be close if its cold out and youve got the k and n lid and no snorkel. however your just going to have to rejet again when you get pipes.....

Like stated below....depends what kind of riding your going to be doing to help choose a pipe. there are some pipes that do really well on a ported motor....some on stock motors......some pipes that do great for drag racing and other that do good in tight trails....

Thanks guys.

I'm in Phx, AZ ... Desert riding with the wife and plenty of dune trips to come. I've got an old air cooled 250r trike, as well, that we use for the same purposes too. For now, the engine will stay fairly stock, I may do a cool head later, but nothing outrageous. Just trying to get the thing usable, right now. I don't want a ridiculously loud pipe either, we'll also be taking it camping occasionally. It may just come down to cheap too, I do things right, but I still like them as cheap as possible.

So, there's a good range of riding styles there... probably just a good, all around type of set up.

My phrasing may have led one to believe the airbox lid is still on... nope, don't even have it. When I went to test the bike it was barely running, so I just did a quick jaunt a few houses up and back. Paid him his G that he wanted, he handed me the airbox with K&N and the mount kit that wasn't even for that filter.

And call me stupid... but I can't figure out the shoutbox... am I not allowed to do any shouting yet? I can see it, but don't know where to type. :(

From what I saw a veteran member tell another guy that asked your same question about the shout box is that you have to have 15 posts before you can use it.

Gawd Dammit!! Where the hell did one of the main jet washers go?? WTF... I wonder if its been missing this whole time I've been tuning. Called 6 stores in Phx and the closest little tiny brass washer is 40 friggen miles away! SumBitch.

If you want an all around pipe that's quiet, i would look into some pro circuits factory sound. A friend of mine had those pipes and they were much much quieter than my toomeys were and they pulled pretty good all the way through.

Maybe this thread will help you find a washer closer.

40 miles is only halfway thru town for me. ;)

I've got work over there tomorrow, so heave ho, off to the ghetto I go.

Did I say quiet pipes? I want good all around power, sound comes last... I'm nearly deaf anyway, too many Motley concerts and cross country trips on rockets.

Welcome Boss,

Check out the forums, grab a few post and shout it up! I have ran CPI and Toomeys on my bikes, friends use PC and they are fairly quiet. I have a 450 that will make you think your at a Hair Band concert.

Welcome to the Forum.

Adam
