My left side pipe is hotter than the right at idle by the way its a new build ... compresion is good stock carbs are synced floats are set ... I'm starting to think my left piston rings arent set causing it to heat up I'm also hearing pinging coming from the hotter pipe but when I hold on to it it stops so I'm thinking its rubbing on something any suggestions ??? streetplatoon
just switched the plug on the colder side no difference did the same thing as above I removed the plug wire it shocked me and the engine kept running... I removed the hotter side plug wire and it shut off (no shock) you think it might be the ignition coil ?
ticktock
Street is your TORS system completely unplugged? Are the pick-up magnets on the outside of the flywheel clean? Is your pick-up gap set to around .020? Check out the TORS and flywheel pickup. If the flywheel is rusty might want to clean it up and try there. ticktock
Swap out the CDI, leave your coil on, then do the stator with your CDI and try to narrow the problem if you have access to another set of electrical. Adam
streetplatoon
Swap out the CDI, leave your coil on, then do the stator with your CDI and try to narrow the problem if you have access to another set of electrical. Adam Adam, I didnt want to hear that but was one of my next steps in the process of elimination ... I have all the wires soldered to the stator... any other suggestions before I do that Thanks!
