i just bought a 2008 banshee orange/black

its completly stock and not fast enough ha ha

i only really ride dunes n have never actually owned a 2 stroke before (had this 2 weeks)

where should i start, happy to spend a few grand getting it up and running

not ready just yet to get into stockers/bigger cc motors

was looking at

toomey t5s

intake kit

v3 reeds

but didnt really know where to go from here, have been reasearching alot but there is varied answeres to each thing and peoples choice i guess

basically if you were putting together a dune bike with stock 350cc (with plans to go bigger later) what would you do

thanks for all your help

Hi and welcome to BHQ!

T-5's are a great all around pipe that will add power to a stock motor. TORS eliminator kit will help you out with general maintenance and try are generally the first things to cause problems. If you are going with a cool head I would go with NOSS or Chariot - you do not need to change cylinder studs with this design. Adding an adjustable timing plate and setting at +4 degrees will give you 2hp across the Curve (as advertised)

Personally I would spend money with Jeff at FAST or Brandon at Wildcard. They are both awesome dealers and information is free with them! I'm sure all of our sponsors help you out but I personally deal with them.

I have a K&N lid. I like it, I got it from FAST racing. Also 2-1 kits can help if set up correctly, but go with Chariot over Trinity.

Enjoy the banshee!!

forgot to mention im in australia not that it really makes a difference i guess

what does the TORS elim kit do?

how do the t5s rate comparted to trinity stage 4s or at the end of the day are they all much the same

i also read that the boost bottle idea is just a waste of money?

thanks

Hi,

The TORS elim kit removes the TORS system from the carbs. This will help will free up area above the carbs and give a cleaner look to the bike. Aside from looks it makes it easier to sync the carbs or idle adjustment. TORS generally becomes a problem as the bike gets older. It is one of the main problems with no spark. Most of us will unplug that right off to eliminate any issues that occur with them.

We have some other Aussies here at BHQ. You should talk to them about where they get their parts from!

I am not sure about trinity pipes but the T-5 add more midrange power.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM TRINITY!!!!!! Go with our other site sponsors. T5s work great and will accomadate future upgrades as well. Bump your timing, increase your compression by either milling the stock head or getting a coolhead and jet it properly. Then before you do ANYTHING ELSE weld the crank!

Haha.....he said go with our OTHER sponsors lol.

The cranks have an issue of actually separating (spreading apart) or coming out of true. When you send your crank out they make sure it is true and then they weld the pins that are press fit into the crank to hold it in place.

If you ARE planning on going to a larger crank then you should make sure they weld it when you get it from the sponsors

You're going to want a longer swinger +4 or bigger . All that power you gotta put to the ground wants to bring up that front end and when doing hill shots , you need to keep the fronts down , and the longer swinger will do that . I also run the 2-1 carb set up , easier maintenance for me . Less to go wrong too

ok so looking at

toomey T5 pipes

pro designs intake

V3 reeds+cages

Chariot head with 19cc domes

timing plate

are the standard carbs still fine for this or is it worth upgrading now

anything else i should lookout for while im pulling the bike apart?

have ordered a few other bits, larger radiator/paddle tyres/new radiator hoses

with these mods do i still run the same oil/fuel mix or what mix would you suggest

and the same spark plugs as stock?

thanks

Still run the same premix as always. You can check the NOSS machine site for a dome elevation/compression chart. Best off on talking to a sponsor for the best info.

The stock carbs are great and useable well into the 4mil engines. So you won't have to change them. Just rejetting.

Which pro design intake?

the pro designs intake that comes with the toomey t5 pipes, just a foam filter for stock air box

im at sea level so 21cc would be the go i think

some people are telling me 32:1

bloke at the bike shop said 40:1 with better quality oil

what do you guys run

have sent a few emails off to sponsors to get these parts on there way
