Mine was only one side but it was the crank

The time before this it was my crank connecting rod washer on the right side. It only damage the right cylinder tho. This confuses me as both flinders are damaged & it was running on the rich side. 34pj's 52 pilots ceg needle middle clip 162 mains.

Well I pull my clutch cover off today & the water pump & impeller is working just fine. So I pulled my cylinders off & inspected the connecting rods to find that the samething happen to this crank that happen to my last crank. The right side lower connecting rod thrust washer shattered & came through the transfers & ruin the top end on the right side again. The left cylinder stills look good, but the right cylinder is totally ruin. What could be causing the thrust washer to keep shattering like this. Im thinking about just buying another set of cases & rebuilding it over. I feel like im having bad luck from these cases, cause I built my cousin & my cousin friend motor & their motors are still running strong with no problem. Will non matching cases cause this? I followed every step detail by detail to building this motor to be reliable. Here are some pics of the crank where it let go in the same spot again. HELP PLEASE......

Who is doing your crank work? A mismatched set of cases should not make your crank seperate if it was welded, although it could cause other crank problems depending on how the mismatch plays out.The damage definetly looks like something ran through it. Have your crank rebuilt and trued/welded by a reputable builder, bore your cylinders, put it together correctly with quality parts, do a leak test, break it in properly and you should be good. OR, buy a set of billet cases, a 4mil crank and some new cylinders and go for broke!

This is the second time that this has happen to my engine. I brought a good OEM crank inspected from a site sponsor. Had a fresh bore & hone with new pistons from site sponsor. I followed the directions from the cylmers manual to build the engine & did leakdown test & squish test. The engine passed the leakdown test but it loss 1 psi. in 6 mins. which is acceptable. What could be causing the thrust washer to shatter like this? can anybody give me some pointers on how to prevent this or what is causing this? what am I not doing correctly?

Im curious ab this as well.

My buddy bought my banshee and ran it wide open in 5th gear not knowing it was a 6 speed and the right melted it down. I tore into it and the right piston was chewed up the left side looked great.

I tore it apart for him. He had the cylinders bored 0.25 and new pistons. I just put it all together, got it running, heat cycled it a few times and its great.

But the bike is all original and had never been rebuilt. So i guess the bottom end is still good.

If I were you I would buy a complete bottom end that is good or a whole motor and start over.

You seem knowledgable do the top end like you want with a known good bottom end.
