Lowflyin Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Is this even possible? I wanted to build a 4 mil but have been thinking about a 10 now. What kind of tranny mods will I need to do? This is a trail bike but will be dragged for fun sometimes. And has anyone have experience with TDR cranks from bansheedepot Quote
ticktock Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 10 mil serval can be bought for about 2400$ maybe less 1200ish top end kit with domes for noss type head 850ish for a good crank, seals 20 and trenching. Pm me for more info. I will discuss who I am going through and why. Adam Quote
Lowflyin Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 Since its a trail bike, I figured a stock cylinder would be good. (if it's possible). Because I could build it now and later on down towards next summer buy a serval cylinder. I didn't know if a stock cylinder 10 mi is possible because of port timings though Quote
Phelps Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 yes it is possible... by the time you are done you could buy a serval topend. Quote
Lowflyin Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 Figured.. Will just go with a 4 mil serval for now then. Thanks Quote
Lowflyin Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 Also, since I can't do that. Are there any cons to a 4 mil Wampus with serval durations? Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Dont forget you will pretty much need all new clutch componets if yours are even slightly worn. Also a modded tranny (under cut, every other dog removed) is ideal if you intend on shifting fast at high RPM. Ther is a bit more to it then just buying a new topend and crank. Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 its easy to spend another 6-800 on clutch and shifting mods if you dont already have some things done. Quote
ticktock Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Fuck it, Do what you want, I have no credibility as a mechanic. I just spend money. Adam Quote
Lowflyin Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 Don't get butthurt.. And I planned on 600-700 for tranny ish Quote
Coupelx Posted February 24, 2012 Report Posted February 24, 2012 Its not very common because of the work involved. A 10mil crank doesn't fit in stock cylinders very well. If you want to stick with stock cylinders look into a 7mil crank. Still requires case work but it will fit in stock cylinders. Quote
Lowflyin Posted February 24, 2012 Author Report Posted February 24, 2012 Well I can always do a 4 mil and wait till next year for a 10. I'm in no hurry really Quote
98blackshee Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Ticktock is rite. I have a 10mil with stock cylinders, but to do it rite its gona cost about 2000-2400, its wellllll worth it, crazy torque! Quote
