cline
Alright guys my question is what inframe pipe set is the best out of the three listed here (T-5's, CPI, Shearer). I ride the sand dunes at Glamis CA and love to haul ass in the dunes as well as shoot the hill as much as I can. After reading a bunch on here as well as asking for all of your advise I have a pretty good idea on the direction ill be taking my motor but haven't called F.A.S.T. yet to work with him on the particulars yet because I need to gather a little more money. I currently have T-5's and was wondering what would be the difference if switching to the CPI or Shearer for the type of riding that I do. Is there a dyno sheet out there anywhere that compares the three? Would switching to the CPI or Shearer opposed to the T-5 on the same motor really make a huge difference? Thanks in advance for your insight. -Shon
Bkm2006
why not keep your t5s and put the money in your motor? then once your have your motor all together get a set of shearers? thats my 2cents .. jeff at f.a.s.t is the man , he build my dune port 350, and i also order all my parts from him... cline
Bkm2006, Thanks for the input. After almost 40 views on my question you are the lone ranger with a response. Maybe my question sucks or the lack of answers is the answer to, "would switching to the CPI or Shearer opposed to the T-5 on the same motor really make a huge difference?" I noticed that your setup is right in the same neighborhood of where mine is headed. By chance do you know what horesepower you are putting out? What carbs are you using? possum
Shearers all the way if ur getting a aggresive dune or drag port. I dune my drag port easily. Depends on what u want. I wanted max rpm and top end power. Thats why i got a drag port with big carbs and inframe shearers with 74RO haulers.
possum
Pipes really matter on port durations u get. Period!!
beez33
If your motor is stock the upgrade to cpi's or shearers wouldn't do much for you. You might gain a little on top but may lose a little on the bottom. Prob not worth it. If you get ported or 4 mill ported then you will get the full benefit of those pipes. Bkm2006
not sure what im putting out hp wise, i just put on a set of 35 pwks today. but with stock carbs and jeff's dune port i noticed a big differance! shifts like butter and even gets the front tires off the ground in the sand, even with the +4 swinger. Bones30
I have t5s on my cub and I was told I would gain a few hp switching to CPI's. T5s are have more torque but the CPI's will pull better at the top. Not sure about shearers, don't know much about them. Good luck
