BigRed350x
A better question is why you don't have a cool head and use o-rings. LOL
Phelps
i would just get a aftermarket head and have domes cut for your application

chris banshee
What about my port timing if I get a bigger base gasket
sstaton1983
What about my port timing if I get a bigger base gasket it depends how much was taken off the deck.if some one took off .080 then that would be the size of base gasket i would use.you need to measure and find where your deck height is. chris banshee
Where to where do I measure from. To find the correct deck height. And what is stock deck height.
sstaton1983
Where to where do I measure from. To find the correct deck height. And what is stock deck height. you will need someone with more experience then me to answer that. I would assume you can measure from gasket surface at base of cylinder to top of the cylinder.that might give you something to compare to if you can measure a stock cylinder.i would measure from bottom of cylinder to bottom of exhaust port and compare that to a good set. i am no pro. maybe someone that knows the correct way can chime in and help. Broke_Banshee
use stock base gaskets, get a coolhead and have precision cut u a set of domes, sounds like they were trying to use a thicker base gasket with a stock head to raise the ports, kinda like they tryed to raise them without portwork, crappy way to do it
