indiana banshee
I just started the bike and drove away from the truck and it came to a screeching halt. Pulled it out and it looks like the left piston exploded from the rings down. I had piston in the exhaust through the bottom end as well. Got the crank, jugs and head leaving to have Jeff work his magic, looks like a bomb was let off inside the piston lucky it didn't ruin the bike. indiana banshee
It was a stock motor never opened original everything. Looks like a ring stuck about mid way and from the ring down just blew apart. It will be at Jeff's tomorrow and is getting a complete overhaul. jayzx10r
Figured it had to be a stocker (or Pro-x) cast. Otherwise, it would look like my avitar pic. Forged don't crack apart, they wad up . Edited February 7, 2012 by jayzx750
shanYE west
If it was all original.. My guess would be a sloppy bore from excessive wear. I have seen a few broken skirts on forged pistons.
