Boone
Just looking to find some riders for an outing at Juniper Dunes.... I'm a local, so Every weekend is best. It's just that you never really hear about Juniper, ans with it being so obscure and impossible to get to (not to mention the total lack of info as to the riding itself). Just trying to get the word out. Pm me.

Boone
Southeast washington. 20 min from Tri-cities. 18000 acres ridable. 20% or so sand... the rest is trails and sagebrush (and the largest concentration of juniper trees this side of the world). Camping all year. No fees. Undeveloped. Oh yeah.... beautiful too.

RC418
I went to Juniper during the summer, after riding the Oregon dunes & even Moses Lake i would never waste my fuel to drive there again lol. The riding area is pretty flat and the trails were nothing but woops from my experience. Save ur fuel and make the drive to Moses Lake atleast lol Heres a pic from my trip, this hill was the most fun I had there lmao Edited February 4, 2012 by RC418
ban565
I use to live 13 miles from juniper and live in Hood River Or. I was there last Labor Day and I ride a 565cc banshee. Where you doing the drag racing that weekend?
ban565
Moses Lake is a waste of time unless you want to ride in a small area and want to dodge rocks and gravel. Ive rode there too and what a waste of time.

You have only been there once... with others who had not been there. Moses Lake and Juniper CANNOT be compared as far as the riding goes... The Biggest, Baddest, Gnarliest, bitch of a climb you can find at Moses is equivalent to...... Well, nothing at Juniper... Here's a tip... Next time, find a local, ask real nice, and just maybe he will hold your hand and show you what No first-timer would ever be able to find... Remember: Moses bout 2500 acres rideable. Juniper is 18000 acres rideable with total elevation change of over 280 feet. Besides the water... there is no comparison. Unless you have a boat. Moses IS the waste of fuel. Btw, that hill is at what we call the bunny slopes.. You were about 4.5 MILES short of the real shit. The biggest hill (the lost dune) is another 2.5 Miles further out than that!! Yes I had only been there once and with others have not been there either. Ive ridden moses lake a few times and had much more fun there, Juniper blew big balls and ill never make the drive there again. Sand Lake is about the same drive from where I live and makes both Moses & Juniper look stupid, but I guess if you live on the dry side anything like Moses or Juniper looks good lol. And while I was there we spoke to some local guy that had like a 50FT enclosed trailer, he gave us the down low on the dunes but we were still not impressed, glad I left the banshee at home cause I would of been pissed if I fucked up my haulers from all the rocks. It sounds like you were only at the southeast end of juniper (the beginning). Soon as you get out into the heart of it... there isn't really any "rocks" to speak of, nothing that would ever endanger the well being of a hauler anyway. Was that enclosed trailer pulled by a red volvo (semi)? That would have been us... Sorry you had a shitty time... if you ever make it down this way again hit me up. Yes... this is (by quite a bit) the best sand in Washington... hands down. But, like I said, if you don't know Where the sand is, you better have 10 gallons strapped to the back of that banshee... Cause you ARE going to need it. Best of luck to ya. P.S. Don't attempt it in the summer.... we only night ride (june-august) cause it is a shitty existence out there that time of year. dave5.0
Just google mapped it. Looks like its right at the same distance to these ones as it is to St Anthonys. Guess I'll hit them first. Then maybe I'll look into juniper.
