good morning

on my shee. 10mil, 66.5 bore i m still using stock carb. 320 main jet, pilot jet 30, needle, fourth groove,1 turn air screw,elev.2000. :) my spark plugs chop is OK, since i will be rich if i go with 330, 340 on main, what does bigger carbs ( after market ) do for my banshee? i know bigger carbs = more fuel, more air other hand stock carb. 330,340 mine jet with 2.5 air screw turn = more fuel more air ! why still some guys would recommend 39-40 crab. for my 10mil ? since 66.5mm bore is OK with stock carb. in my opinion benefit from bigger carbs ( after market ) start after 67mm or 68mm cylinder bore.

WOW , any carbs would be better than stock on that motor. If you slow ride a lot or do MX type riding or trails than 33-35mm carbs would be good, if you do a lot of wide open riding then 38-41mm carbs. Bigger carbs make much more topend and midrange. Stock carbs are also not as easy to tune. I prefer Keihin PWKs over about any carb but especially stock.

A larger bore by .040 or .080 will do very little for adding power to your bike.

to answer your question about why you cant just run bigger mains to add more fuel if a bigger carb will add more fuel, with a bigger carb, you are also running more air through there with the added fuel. just adding fuel with a stock carb doesn't allow you to add more air. you have to have both, air and fuel. with that motor, i would run atleast a 38/40 or 39's.

:whoa: WOW, one of the first posts were a guy was actually running carbs that are too small!

More times than not it's 35's on a stock motor. But stockers on a 10 mill?

Yeah, time for new carbs. 35's for most any riding or 39's if it's more about fire roads or dunes.
