blubyyou
My swing arm doesnt have any skid plate mounts either. He said he was gonna make them out of stainless ...instead of aluminum like the blingstar version to keep cost down. From the way he talked it should be a product that can be fabbed up for under $ 200. Also he will cut some half circles in the chain guard like the blingstar version for added traction for crossing over trees and stuff when you bottom out the rear....this feature does work good too. So I will head off to the garage to pull out my axle on the ltr so i can get him some good pics of how its designed. I think its gonna be a pretty nice piece to add to the banshee. Keep on posting up if your interested and I will keep updating this as I get more info. Thanks JD for taking on this project! blubyyou
Another update ....through text I talked with JD and sent over some pics. I'm going to strip down the ltr and send him my blingstar setup so he can design them for us banshee owners. I think he's gonna use aluminum too....these are gonna look sick I bet! I will get mine sent out by Monday to him and expect about a two week turn around time according to JD. Wonder if he will hook us up as guinea pigs for the trial first run lol....will keep posting as i know more. Trying to keep this post to the top to gain some more interest and possibly keep the cost lower with more orders.

locogato11283
JD will be able to knock these out easily. He has done a ton of custom shit for me.

blubyyou
I will be taking my blingstars of my ltr this afternoon, boxing them up and sending them out to JD on Monday. Only issue I see is I might have to trim my tm design chain block next to the sprocket due too tight clearances. Shouldn't be a big issue. Maybe I could find a different style chain block that would clear it. I will know more once he fabs these up and I get them bolted up. I will keep you all up-to-date on the progress. WINDYCITYJOHN400
Just wondering.....couldn't those of us who run the "Honda style" round carriers just order the items for a Honda 450? Or are the mounts more specific due to our Rotor/sprocket spider offset, etc? Also, if your still running the factory Banshee swingarm and carrier......I'd highly advise you ditch that set-up. You'll wonder why they ever brought it into production. The original Banshee design is light like a boat anchor and all the bolts and hardwear are about as needed as fish hooks on a condom. guns4children
Oh shit.... I also hope your running a round house. I just thought that the sprocket would be the thing that it bolted up to.
blubyyou
It really shouldn't matter if you are running a Honda style setup or factory setup. Reason being that the chain guard will bolt up to the sprocket and the rotor guard will replace the factory brake stay/ caliper monting bracket. So using a Honda setup wouldn't work for the chain guard .....it would be banshee specific.
bbcmudtruck
Great timing! haha, I talked to JD last week about making the same stuff for my YFZR. I'm sending him my stock rear sprocket hub to get all the dimensions he needs. JD is a handy mexican to have around sometimes. Also, the majority of riders who have the dual setup have switched to the single setup on the sprocket guard due to debri packing in and tearing up the chain. blubyyou
I still think I'm going to go with the dual side chain guard...I haven't really experienced any trouble with debris packing up in my chain. Although i have read about people saying that they have.
Meat
GNCC and XC racers have been using these for 6 or 7 years now with success. Like mentioned, the dual setup has problems with packing up with mud and stuff, but someone(not a company, but some dude online) has made a small little brush system that he calls 'the guard dog" that cleans out the dual guard setup. You can get the Guard Dog brushes through GT-Thunder. LoneStar sells single stainless steel guards, all of the dual guards are aluminum, dual stainless guards are a lot of heavy rotating mass. I've heard that the design of some of the newer the dual guard are vented to allow debris to exit easier, so drill some holes/cut some slots in the design. locogato11283
JD can easily laser cut some slots or holes in these to reduce weight. I generally let him do whatever he wants on my parts to save weight and it always looks good.
