seabass
I know this topic has been covered but the search box turns up nothing. If somebody could either explain or direct me to this topic, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Glenyboy
Have you tried a pickaxe, I've heard that's how they used to remove gold in the olden days. On a serious one couldn't that aviation stripper be used, heard it mentioned in lots of other threads before.
rubberneck
easy off oven cleaner will pull the gold off the rims. then you are a polish job away from some nice shiney aluminum ones.
seabass
That's what I thought it was. Isn't it easy off with Lye or something like that?
rubberneck
Ive had great success with just straight up easy off. Used it cold no need to heat or anything. Used it to take the gold off all the rims on both my Honda ATC 250r. Cant imagine the yamaha anodizing is that much better, so unless easy off has pussed out and gone to a new green formula or something i bet it takes it right off. It does dull the aluminum a lot though, you will need to buff them out.
zach45
If you pee on it. Then hose it down it should be stripped and polished already
