tarmacsti
Hi would someone mind having a look at my plugs and 'read' them? Bike is running the best it ever has, i would just like to know if its safe or is there room for improvement both performance or safety. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks! edgehanger
In the pic the plugs look burnt black to me. They are the wrong color. If those plugs are bone dry then i would go up a jet or two. You say its running better than ever? The bike will run real good slightly lean until the piston melts. RadarRacing
Why dont you do a plug chop and then you will know for sure. Those look black to me.
tarmacsti
Pics are bad, the plugs do have some brown and black on them, but not more one color than the other. (what are they supose to look like?) Plug chopping this weekend!
tarmacsti
also I will first put some more ride time on them, before chopping them.
Jereme6655
Riding around on thoses plugs for another hour isnt gonna do you any good for doing a plug chop. What you need to do is warm the bike up using THOSE plugs..... When its fully warm put 2 BRAND new plugs in. The instant you start you need to aim it down the road and go 1st -6th gear holding it wide open the whole way. As soon as youve hit top end you need to pull in the clutch and shut the motor down and coast to a stop. Then put in your 2 plugs you warmed the bike up on and go chop your new plugs. tarmacsti
Seriously, do I need to be driving it. What If I put the bike on a stand and lift the wheels of the ground?
