Anybody tell me why this top case would be jb welded here?

It looks to me that it was completely JB welded at one time. Unless that motor has been sitting for years, the pictures have some stains on that second oil journal and it looks like the epoxy is partially chipped off on both sides. Maybe im wrong because the hole is not completely filled up, but who knows.

Pretty awesome if you ask me! Why did it run crappy and like a stocker? Look at the quality of work. You are going to have to cut those pistons and the wristpins to get them out. Nice welds, they didn't break off like the JB weld. I cant believe someone would do that to an 800 dollar crank!! Damn Drug Dealers

i chipped away the jb weld to see what was under there. Im afraid if i leave it in it might come loose. The wrist pin moves freely. I think it will come out im just so confused as to why the welds in the wrist pin and only on one side. I hope i don't have to get new cases when and if i remove the jb weld. Afraid of what i might find under there.

Definitely remove the epoxy from the cases. The little 1/8" (approx) holes that are drilled into the case are to provide oil to the crank bearings. If the jack-ass put JB weld in there, your crank bearings were probably being starved for oil. What a pile. Good luck with it.

Yea i think i know the guy that put this motor together. He's supposed to be "one of the best". Think im going to give him a call and ask him wtf. I betcha a dollar to a doughnut he says he has no idea what im talking about and blames it on someone else. I really need to know the purpose of the wrist pin being welded.

lol what is it man? Ever seen anything like that?

Sure, the piston pin on the Aprillia RSA engined GP125 is blocked.

The purpose of which as stated by Frits Overmars (google him, definitely no crack-head) is to prevent short-circuiting between the transfer and exhaust ports on the Aprillia RSA engine.

The volume inside the piston pin can also dampen the system's resonance, as on the RSA engine the piston pin, during the stroke coincides momentarily with the aux exh ports...

Can't comment on the rest of the 'modifications' on your motor. :whoa:
