My Banshee

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if you guys had any suggestions on how i could make my shee look a little bit better. the decals/graphics shown in the pictures have since fallen off on many of the motor/exhaust accessories are on their deathbed. Keep in mind im kind of on a tight budget. 17 years old and only make like $400/month. have like 500 saved.

Looks wise you can go with shock covers,different bars with a pad maybe,headlight covers,seat cover,cutting front fenders,adding a nice front bumper which I have a nice ac bumper for sale its in my pic on my signature :) even just polishing up some things and painting can do wonders for looks like painting the little mesh thing infront of your radiator or even buying an insert they make tons of cool ones.

First thing you need is a Clymers manual. Concentrate on maintenance for now. How's your chain/sprockets, suspension pivots, brakes?

I wouldn't cut the fenders off, if you ride mud they help keep you and quad cleaner. There actually some that want them, maybe sell/ trade them. Or by some cut and have both. Clean it real good, Do a little detailing, paint wheel and sprocket/brake hubs a contrast/complimenting color. Get a cheap set of pipes and BBQ paint, biggest bang for the buck. X-2 on timing mod, $20 for flywheel puller and small rat tail file. ONLY use proper puller for flywheel !!!!! Better air filter and remove box lid. BE SURE TO REJET for ANY mods that increase air flow in or out of motor.

Be safe and enjoy :cheers::cheers::cheers:

my vote, keep it the way it is and save up money.

once you have a nice bit saved up then worry about maybe spending some on upgrading your shee.

some of the cheap mods you can do, the +4 timing to your stock stator (must have correct tool to do) porting the reeds (again need correct tools), having the head milled is usually not bad.

if you have some money to spend, hit up nyuk on here for a set of pipes for it.

remember to always check your jetting when you mod anything just to be safe, dont want to have to spend your savings on rebuilding the top end.

any idea on what tools i would need to port the reeds or adjusting timing? cuz my dad is an automotive mechanic but im guessing those would probably be special ordered tools??

Maintenance-wise the shee is fine, ive replaces chain recently, sprocket, suspension, brakes all seem to be performing fine. I'd say I'm somewhat mechanically savvy and maintenance hasnt been a problem. When i stated parts where on their deathbed, i meant in terms of aesthetics. I ride in the desert and the occasional dune so ive considered cutting the fenders. i have a k&n filter already, but haven't wanted to remove box yet cuz i want to get pipes before i rejet. I dont understand what you mean by flywheel puller and small rat tail file. Can you leave some instructions on how to do some of this stuff please?

oh and my headlights are terrible. ive seen some lazer star headlights and they seem pretty sick. I like the small, low profile style. Ive read that you would need to replace the stator and dc conversion for hids. So i was considering some leds cuz they are really bright and i dont need to be seeing too far ahead of me in the dark. Any recommendations on lights?
