ohlin and a-arm question

I don't know if they are or not. I bought the bike with this setup. I guess I will have to measure the shocks. Anyone know what length stock shocks are from eye to eye so I can compare?

Something in my brain says 14 3/4 " but better double check that.

Stock shocks are 14 3/4" extended, eye to eye.

If you Ohlins are this lengt, they will feel stiffer on stock a-arm due to the different motion ratio. If they are longer / long travel, they won't work without custom work on your stock a-arms.

I'm not sure what a "motion ratio" is, but the Ohlins, unless they are set up for a 350lb rider on +3's, will be softer than stock. MUCH softer. Also, the OP has aftermarket A-Arms.

The best way to find out if they'll work, is just to bolt them up and see how the bike sits. If it sits low, odds are you have the FF arms made for the YFZ450 shocks. If the frame is sitting on the ground, you have Long Travel a-arms that are designed for an 18.75"-19.25" shock.

I don´t know if these are the same Öhlins, but I love mine. I have +2+1 A-arms. If I remember right the lenght is close to 14.5" (Öhlins).

I use them as soft as they can be adjusted (sorry my english), and they will not bottom out even after a jump. I weight 240 "ready to race".

Here they are adjusted a little harder and the front is 1.5 higher.

Just bolt them on and try them out.

Here you can see how the A-arms are, when they are "soft"
