gh2010ism
I got a brand new set of v force 3 reeds for Christmas. I'm going to take the stock reeds off this week and I'm going to race my friend who i am dead even with right now and see what gains these really give... I might even do a video of before and after. Let me know if anyone is interested in knowing and we will race from a roll with stock reeds and video it. Then I will change and check jetting and race again with the vf3 and video it so you can see the difference if any.....

Coupelx
you will need a boost bottle to see any real gain with the reeds

2004LEBanshee
I think youll find the more modded your set up is the better they respond. I doubt you willl see the reeds turn the tide of a race IMO they just dont really make more then a couple HP difference.
DallasGDub
VF3 are nice. They will compliment any other mod you do. Just a reminder, in case you did not know, you have to trim your intakes for proper fit. Just use a razor.
BansheeBanditBrian
Trim the intakes? With a razor where?

gh2010ism
Thanks for the heads up I'm just about ready to start that project. There are two on each side and I just used a razor blade to cut them flush it was really easy.. I just installed the vf3 today and they do make a difference. I did a plug chop before and after and it made my setup a good bit richer I have a 340 main jet now and I need a 330 after installing the reeds so they do flow better for sure. It is pretty rich right now but still accelerates faster than it did before by a good bit. I'm going to race my friends 450r again soon and see how much quicker it is. With the stock reeds I was not at the top end of 6th gear at my drive way I ran a good distance same distance each time after the vf3 I was at the top end of 6th a pretty good distance from my drive way to they made the bike quicker for sure and I don't even have the jet dialed in right yet.... Glenyboy
I can't understand why they make something you have to go and hack up?
