Mike.
My 2008 banshee doesnt seem to be running 100% It has paul turner front pipes with fat boy rear cans, i was also told when i bought it that the jets were changed in the carbs(unknown size) and it is also supposed to have aftermarket reed valves. Standard airbox and filter. Standard carb size My question is The quad runs fine on idle but when i accelerate it floods itself before it comes into the power band and then it drives perfect. How can i get it to stop flooding itself before it comes into the power band? It makes it very hard to drive at the moment because it just doesnt have the power to pull me around when its out of the power band due to the flooding. Thanks Edited December 18, 2011 by Mike. I dont know much about carb set ups to be honest. Air box lid is on. I havnt touched the carbs yet as i was hoping to get an idea of what is wrong here first and then go from there. How do i know what size jets i have? And what is "Pt mid or hi" and "needle and clip position" I really dont know anything about carbs so be patient haha Thanks for the help

thomas h.
If you can take the bowl off your carb the removable brass parts are the jets look for the stamped numbers. The pt is Paul tuner and they will say what model mid range design or hi range design If you take apart your carb and slide, the needle is there. Please tell us what position the. Clip is in. ginger
0-1/4 throttle Pilot jet 1/4-3/4 Needle 3/4-WOT Main Thats how i based my jetting. So if it seems like its flooding somewhere between 1/4-3/4 i would drop the needle one position and see if it helps
beez33
I would check and make sure the parking brake isn't stuck on. Even when you release it it can still be on resulting in the carbs to open half way before flooding out. Check that then move to the carbs. fiveohfanatic
DId you get it fixed? I thought I had carb jetting problems, turned out to be the parking brake sensor. Mine was faulty, making it bog off idle and before the power band. Unplug it and tape it up. I kept taking the carbs off, jetting, etc and that was the problem!
