sheerider11
So I've searched all over this site and can't really find info on a milled head. Allot of people suggest it but no info really about it that I could find. I wanna keep my banshee looking stock. I just got it ported and a 4 mill ready to go. If I take off .035 why one have an idea of where that should put me as far as compression? I wanna keep running pump 93. Is .035 good? Should I go less? Will the piston smash the head? Can I do this but make the chamber a little bigger? Any help will be really appreciated. As you can tell I'm going into this pretty much blind. Thanks again guys. Larry's Shee
Are you running a spacer under the cylinders?

Larry's Shee
Just checking that you didn't need stroker domes. IIRC, .030 is about max. Maybe check your squish now and see how much you can take off. What you planning to run for fuel?

I'm handy with a micrometer and calipers so you can get into detail. Thanks for helping me out
Larry's Shee
Take soft solder, bend in "L" shape, 1 1/2 leg. Insert in plug hole with leg same direction as pin. Turn motor over to "Squish" solder. remove and measure at thinnest point. That will give clearance between head and piston. IIRC, .045 is about min, and might be to small for 93 oct. If I haven't explained this correctly, someone please correct me.

Worst case I'll just bite the bullet and get a coolhead. Thanks again for your help. And if any one had any more input I'd like to know. Jereme6655
you could also call a sponsor.....i'd recommend Jeff at FAST (only cause that is who i have only dealt with) and he was absolutely awsome to talk with. Ive heard the same about kevin at hjr though. I'd ask him about how much can be safely taken off of it. you MAY have to get it rechambered for an optimal +4mil burn.....he'd know the answer. And if you'd like.....he also sells shaved head....i think they are around $60....that's what i did....this way if i have an issue with deto while riding i can hit up camp and swap out to my stock head....yea it'll run like junk (performance wise)...but im not running as high of compression causing the deto and am able to finish out the weekend. At least how i look at it haha.

And have interchangeable domes for future use.
