I have never ridden an r. But you can get an old carb yfz for like 200-2500 if you look around.

But then again I don't know what the r's are fetching. I would love to ride one...

But travis a local guy up I'n pA had a da that did 175 mph with a chip and big bore... He told me if you get a bone stock one and gear the rear tooth BIGGER it will do 120-130 boner stock... So you should look I'n that direction also....

You guys are awesome and it sounds like I am leaning towards the YFZ or the LTR. There is no way that I will be getting a TRX they are slow and the suspension out the box on them are trash. I am really starting the like the YFZ450R b/c of the looks and good things I hear about them. The bbcmudtruck has is sick hott.

Yea I think Mike is selling his, but I am not sure of the year of his. I know the older YFZ's had issues with the oil and needed a modification. So I want something a little newer. Like an 2008 and up YFZ or 2006 up LTR.

Travis. The kid mike I think is selling his

Im not spending 5g's+ for an 09 much less 8500 for a brand new bike. thats just retarded. Not when as mentioned you can get an older one in the 2k range. I picked up my 08 SE for $2800

Really? I think its retarded to spend 3gs on less of a bike. I guess if you can't affordit, then an 07 or 08 would be thenext best option. But even in stock form, the rs have better suspension than the older bikes with upgraded shocks.

Ill spend 3k on a bike, and 3k on parts, and have a better bike. MUCH better bike. And you think the Factory R shocks are better than what i can buy aftermarket? You cant be serious.....

I'm not going to get into a pissing match with ya. Simple statement, you don't see any pro riders still rockin the older bikes. Your not going to change my opinion. And yes, I think the r with factory suspension is just as good as a set of aftermarket shocks on the older bikes, IF dialed in correctly. Why, because I personaly have seat time on both. Besides, you can buy an r that has a decent amount of upgrades for less than 5 and have twice the bike. I'm not saying the older yfzs are junk by any means. Just saying that the R's are much, much better. That's my opinion, and your not going to make any arguable point to sway me different. The only draw back on the R's is obtaining power. It costs a little more than a carbed bike. They are superior in every other way. If your patient enough, you can find a low hour r for around 3500. For example, there was a very clean low hour R on the kansas city craigslist for 3500 just a month ago. To me, it makes more sense to buy the best and then invest your money into it from that point forward.

As far as Runs bike goes, I think he was asking waaaay to much for it. He bought it built for 6 or less, added a few bolt ons and then tried to flip it. The guy that built that bike probably did have 8 or more in it, but like anything in this sport, we all know it doesn't mean that's what its worth plus runs bike was still on factory X suspension, not R.

I was only considering the 2011 DS450 XMX b/c I dont know anyone that owns one and they are fully setup with long travel front suspension, fuel injection, KYB dual rate shocks, beadlock wheels, anti-vibe +1 steering stem, Rear Extendable Axle from stock to +4, inverted front brakes, fully bolted up frame(no welds).
