Finch Posted December 6, 2011 Report Share Posted December 6, 2011 thinking bout getting a cool head as far as i know motor is stock but dragged raced my buddys banshee which is bored twenty over and we tied every time and that was my first time on a banshee so maybe thinking it has something done to it was at 90 psi when i bought it (which it sat for 1.5 years) now ive ran it have yet to re test it let me say the chart on noss says my osi should be around hundred at my elev. but im wondering which size domes i should get if the motor is stock not gonna open it till i get the head and domes dont wanna have to wait for more parts to be shipped so just looking for suggestions on dome sizes desert and sand is what i plan to be doing and i wanna fly Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Were you holding the throttle wide open and kicking until the needle stopped moving during the compression test? 90 psi is seriously low. Also boring is not a power gain. its done to either fix scuffs or to straighten egg shaped cylinders. they do not add power. being bored twenty over is actually removing .020 of an inch. 2-one hundreths of an inch.....not gonna make that bore big enough to make power. your buddies bike might be tuned bad and yours may be alot closer.......and he may have just been spinning the shit out of the tires .....basically it could be coming down to you being a better rider... 06specialedition Posted December 6, 2011 Report Share Posted December 6, 2011 At this elevation you are perfectly safe running 19cc domes on pump gas. That's what I run at this elevation. I suggest either Chariot or Noss. I've ran both heads and they both are nice. Any site sponsor on here is going to do a killer job on porting. I've always delt with Wildcard Racing and couldn't be happier. They are only about 45-60 minutes away from us, and Brandon and Shay are top notch in the business. If you don't want to make the drive, pull your cylinders and ship them to Wildcard. It's all in the porting. You could port it yourself if you have half a mind on how to do it. I would Google search and do some reading you'll find plenty info. coryv4 Posted December 6, 2011 Report Share Posted December 6, 2011 Next question would be does the diff size domes really make that much difference and how bout reeds yeh domes really do make a difference every 10 psi you get is an extra 9.6hp reeds usually make you engine rev 45% faster along with an extra 4hp dont forget to buy a boost bottle that is where the serious powers at some guys have claimed an estimate of 25hp increase over the stock crossover tube.
