WTB: Axle and possibly other parts

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, joined the forum today because I was referred here by mmajay over on blasterforum. I'm looking for a stock width banshee axle for my blaster build. Doesn't matter if it's stock or not, just as long as it is a stock width shee axle.

Also, if you guys recommend any other parts for me to incorporate into my build, just let me know!!

If you have an 03 to 06 Blaster, the Banshee axle is a direct swap. If you have an 02 or older with the cable operated caliper, it is NOT a direct bolt in. There is tons of misinformation around the net from people doing this. The big issue is that the older Blaster has a stationary caliper and a floating disc. The Banshee has a stationary disc and a floating caliper. When it's all over, you have only 2 good choices on the older Blasters. 1) Buy an aftermarket axle made for the Blaster. 2) Use a Banshee axle, banshee disc and hub, 03 to 06 Blaster bearing carrier, and convert it over to hydraulic rear disc brakes, including welding brackets to the frame.

Thanks for the info starwriter. I am aware of the requirements for fitting a banshee axle to a blaster. I am in the middle of an '03 blaster build, figured I could use some shed parts. Did some thinking, I could also use a steering stem (since shed stems are +2" compared to blaster stems) and a banshee petcock. This thing's gonna want some fuel, since it's stroked and ported, so it's getting a PWK 35. The banshee petcock should help increase the flow a little better.

Cool! Glad to see you're building an 03. It's always nice to have really good brakes.

Yeah, You can check out my build thread here --->http://www.blasterforum.com/full-rebuilds-128/primes-build-43634/

Don't have too much done, except the motor. If you read through all the posts you can see why nothing has really gotten done yet. I have to get to work on my frame (prep & paint) sometime this week, then things will really get rolling.
