94BANSHEE
Hi guys I have a pretty stock banshee except for T5 pipes and silencers, Wiseco pistons when I got bored .20 over and I do have a timing plate yet to be installed. Head and carbs are stock. I was looking at some top end kits on the sposor sites. However I dont want to change or upgrade the Toomeys. I really like them and I also dont have the funds to do it right now I will be installing V force III reeds soon but Im looking for the best top end kit that will gain me as much as possible while still being able to trail ride. I dont dune ride and Id like more top end when cruising is 6th. I plan on getting a new head, but not sure which type domes yet, as well. I like to get a top end engine kit that can be dropped in on the stock crank that will work well with T5's. I assume Id need to udgrade tbe stock carbs but not sure how big. I live near Maine so the yearround weather isnt the best putting it mildly Thanks!! Any suggestions would be appreciated

Any suggestions would be appreciated get a coolhead! bolt on, choose your domes and go! it will increase compression, thus giving you more power. stock carbs should be fine! just gotta rejet! as for domes, look up your elevation to see what domes you can run without having to run race gas. one of our sponser sites noss machine, has a chart for compression and sea level! welcome to the BHQ! 94BANSHEE
Thx for the post. Well my Wiseco pistons.have been running for years. Even though the bike is running fine I think it may be time for a top end rebuild anyway. But Id like something that will gain me full potential on pump gas I surely will get a head and domes and v force reeds right off the bat. Azryll
If your gonna rebuild the top end I would look at getting ported. That with a cool head to bump up the compression will give you alot more power.
CFH87
Kevin at hjr for some porting 10 day turn around cant go wrong...
Glamis321
Also your stock carbs would probably be fine with just a port job.
94BANSHEE
What if I dropped Cub blocks stock stroke with new Wisecos and head on my set up? would there be a big difference top end with that and porting with a fresh bore and piston kit? guns4children
If you really want to be cheap get it bored one size over and the the " superstock" topend kit off eBay. I did this and felt a power increase.
94BANSHEE
Im not trying to be cheap or anything. I just want to get the most top end I can get with stock crank, toomey pipes, aftermarket head and vforce reeds and stock carbs. So right now I looking at a port and bore with new pistons OR a top end drop in kit from a vendor. I just dont know which way would net me higher top end gains and speed?? jbooker82
What kind of riding do you do? It is fun to chase big HP numbers, but if the power is in the wrong place it wont do you any good. The Cub is a drag ported cylinder. 94BANSHEE
I just trail ride, sand pits, long long dirt and paved roads etc. No sand dunes or drag strips, but Id like to test it at the track someday I run holeshot or bandit tires

94BANSHEE
So, how would this set up be: Porting by HJR, bore and hone .40 or .50 over (Right now I think Im at .20 or .30 over) Wiseco piston kit (Not sure to get HP or regular Wisecos. Which are better?) Aftermarket head and domes plus the additional of the parts below Would that increase my top end etc. considerably over what Im currently running now with Vforce III reeds Toomey T5 pipes Stock carbs, head, and .20 or .30 over ???? Thanks
donkeypuncher
Yes, it will. If you talk to Kevin (HJR) and tell him the type of riding you do he will know which porting will suit you best.
