escobar
Took my banshee up to the local shop to have them look over it since I just got it. They said the carbs were in need of a rebuild, It couldnt idle because the adjuster was shot or something. They also said the fuel lines were routed wrong. My question is, is rebuilding these carbs a pain? or is it pretty straight forward as I have rebuilt my mikuni on my jetski before. I ordered the rebuild kit off ebay already and was going to give it a shot. also, is there a diagram of how the fuel it supposed to be routed? Thanks, any input would be great. blowit
If you can't rebuild them, you need to return your tools and man card. They are very simple other than setting the float level which just takes understanding and usually not required. These carbs really don't have many parts to justify calling it a "rebuild". Jets never wear out but they do plug up and require cleaning. Your kit will likely include jets and needle/seat which commonly leak on the Mikunis. Don't sweat fixing them, just make sure you understand how to sync or balance them before you ride. that is critical for good performance and engine life. Brandon Mull Engineering awesome, thanks for the reply. I noticed there wasnt much in the rebuild kit gasket wise, just alot of little parts. The yamaha shop was going to charge 1.5 hours labor per carb@$70 per hr so you do the math. I said forget that, I'll do it! As far as the fuel lines, does it just come off the tank on off switch and then T into each carb?
Glamis321
It runs from the petcock on the tank and into a T, down to each carb.
