252wheelieking
I am currently building a 421 cub & was wondering what size domes & timing you guys recommend for 93 pump gas at sea level. I have read on here that 24cc domes are a good set of domes to use at that elevation. My set-up will be SB IF Shearers, Chariot coolhead, 421 cub of course, VF2's, 34mm PJ's & dual K&N filters. I am using the bike to play around with. Im not all into drag racing but will drag race sometimes for fun. Thanks for your opinions in advance. Sandfrk33
I think HJR cut my domes to 23cc for pump gas. My timing is at +4. Runs a little warm, but nothing alarming Elevation here is 1000 to 2000
werner
always check your squish too. Redline send me a set after we discussed what my setup was, what kind of riding whati wanted to do with it, how much i weighed, base gasket or not, etc.... he told me to put them in and do a squish test. if it wasnt correct he would send me a new set along with a package to send the others back. sleeper06
why wouldnt get the whole set-up from one guy so there is no question,22-23cc domes depending on porting,+4 timing is the max on pump fuel but is sometimes too much depending on variables so i have run as lil as +2,squish i like at .050,order diffrent base gaskets to adjust squish

I am getting the complete set-up from Kevin at HJR. I just wanted to hear some different opinions on other set-ups. Thanks for the info, it really helps out alot. I am getting a clean-up port. What base gasket thickness is good for 22-23cc domes? What variables would cause +4 timing to be too much?. I have not heard from you in a while. I was going to get you to do my stockers but couldn't keep in touch with you. Edited November 21, 2011 by 252wheelieking
bansheeryder21
call Kevin at HJR. www.herrjugsracing.com I would think 21cc domes with +4 timinng. That's what I run on 91 pump gas look at my sig for my motor. Not sure how different cubs are.

Did you read my sig? Thanks tho.

Thanks tho. sorry I didn't read your sig. That's cool we have the same set up. Eventually I want to up to a cub as well. Where do you ride? Im asking because I notice your gearing is way different then mine. I ride at glamis/gordons sand dunes and can pull 4th gear up any hill. Wondering if I should go up to a 15t front? Wondering if I should go up to a 15t front? I ride wide open fields, down country backroads & long paths through the woods. I tried running a 14/40 but I run out of gear to fast. A 16T front sprocket is a bit much & a 15T would be perfect for me but im keeping the 16 for the 421 cub. Are you at sea level cause it's funny I use the same jetting 52 pilots CEG needle mid clip & 158 mains 75+ degrees. werner
what is your dome size, squish, timing, base gasket thickness, type fuel, & set-up? My setup is 15:1 comp with .45 squish, +4 timing, no base gasket on full race 110. I suggest staying with builder for most components. I purchased my topend and clutch setup from Redline so I had domes cut to what he recommended for me.
