fastbanshee8
You may have to split the cases, and once you get it out, also put in a pancake bearing to prevent this from happening again.
Sandfrk33
Can you get the ball and rod out? If not, they may have welded to the clutch arm or to the inside of the tranny shaft. If they will not come out, time to start splitting cases
Coupelx
depending on how bad it is it will range from fishing it out with a magnet to replacing the transmission shaft that it rides in. i have one here that someone hosed it bad enough the push rod is permanently welded inside the shaft. Either dont coast with the clutch pulled in or go to a pancake bearing setup.
oprahwinfree
yeah its in there for good in I was pretty sure that splitting the case was in order. once i get to the transmission do you think ill be able to use a punch to get it out or will i need to find a new transmission. also i was trying to get the clutch arm out of the case and it seems to be stuck. I was following the manual's instructions but i was thinking i was getting cought up on the rod?

Sandfrk33
I've got 2 tranny shafts in the garage with permanent welded parts on them. Beat one of them with a 4 lb sledge and couldn't get the fucker out. I bought tranny shafts from members on here for less than $20. Might post in the wanted section

Might post in the wanted section Sandfrk, can you please post a pic of those tranny shafts? I had the same thing happen to me but i was able to get the pancake bearing out. The ball bearing is welded to the adjuster. Also, do you have any other advise on taking the rod out? When i stick a magnet in there i can move it a little bit but it won't come out. I think it welded itself to the clutch arm, because i can wiggle the arm and it moves the rod. I would hate to tear into a perfectly running shee. Ayways, Thanks for your guys' help!! You are going to have to split the cases, it sounds like the pushrod welded to the clutch arm. If that is the problem, the shaft will stay with the upper case when it comes apart, and yes it can be split with the arm still in the case. When you get it fixed you can either put in a pancake bearing OR switch to Klotz Flex Drive 30 tranny oil. I have ran this in all my Banshees and Blasters includung the wife's and kid's bikes for about 20 years now. We have NEVER lost a gear, bearing, clutch, or welded a clutch ball with it, even on the girl's bikes that the coast and idle with the clutch lever pulled in. NONE of our bikes have pancake bearings. It isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for.
