wesw Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 Buddy has one that the egr cooler is leaking again yr after dealership fixed it. So want to put on a egr delete kit. What kit do u guys use or recommend and how much of a bitch is it to remove. Found one http://www.mkmcustoms.com/60lfordpowerstrokedieselegrvalvecoolerdeletekit.aspx. did u guys use a programmer to trick ecm to not throw a cel or what. Did this on my dmax but fords a new ballgame and like to know what we are getting into Quote
wfobasheeboy Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 I put this kit on my 05 F250 6.0L. Just use this & you will not need the tuner to keep the CEL off. I have 6 of my Buddy truck fitted with this kit & never had a problem again. http://www.bulletproofdiesel.com/Articles.asp?ID=146 Quote
jasons Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 i dont have any suggestions for a certain kit but i do know it take about 6 hours to put in. Quote
wesw Posted November 12, 2011 Author Report Posted November 12, 2011 Think the 05 can do it without a cel His is an 06 Will try it out and drink beer while doing it Quote
skinraptor Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 I have a bullet proof diesel life time warranty egr cooler for about a year without and its in my service truck I run hard. But I would recommend a chevy or dodge haha Quote
JayCLL Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 Did you see a gain or lose in MPG when you put the egr delete in? Quote
skinraptor Posted January 2, 2012 Report Posted January 2, 2012 I didnt see any differance but mines not a delete kit its a lifetime warranty egr cooler. Quote
Worstenemy453 Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 River City Diesel EGR Delete is the best. I would get a SCT X3 with tunes from Gearhead Auto PErf, Truck Source Diesel, Innovative Diesel or River City Diesel. Once you custom tune that truck you will never go back. If you need any help PM me, Diesel performance is what my shop specializes in Quote
bansheeryder_69 Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 I hear the military has a kit they use to fix the 6.0's ....seems to work pretty good too. It looks something like this. Quote
stevel Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 I hear the military has a kit they use to fix the 6.0's ....seems to work pretty good too. It looks something like this. I need this kit! Three days till snakehunt and lost the cooler on my 07 only 80000 miles! Wtf Quote
bansheeryder_69 Posted April 10, 2012 Report Posted April 10, 2012 Sell it and get the 6.4, they are awesome. I have hardly had any problems with mine other than stupid stuff like the tow mirrors, tailgate, and oh yea front end. With a good tune and some other minor mods I have seen a couple guys break 600 H.P. not bad for a Ford Quote
