bennieben1
is it okay to store it for the next outing? or does it separate? is it still good? what do you guys do? and help on this matter is greatly appreciated. thanks
ginger
it will not store well, Alcohol itself doesnt store well because it sucks in moisture and you will end up with a water alcohol mixture. plus i know in small amounts premixed alcohol will make a white gunky paste substance. once your done riding for the year, drain your tank and clean your carbs. RadarRacing
Only mix what you will use but I keep it mixed in well sealed containers for a month but not much more. If it sits in your gas tank unsealed with the vent open for even a day dump it. I never keep it if its sat vent open for even a day.
BANSHEE HP
as long as the container is air tight and you shake up the can before use it will be fine, ive dyno tested year old mixed meth vs. brand new, and there was no difference in performance. Tedder
I try to mix only enough fuel (alcohol) to ensure that I won't run out at the track and used to dump what was leftover but after talking to Klotz and Benol I quit wasting the fuel. Both told me that as long as the fuel was in an airtight, sealed (preferably steel) container off the floor that all it needed was a good shake and it was good to go. I've since used fuel that was held over from one season to the next. As old as 8 months with no problem. I strictly run asphalt and my ET slips have never indicated the fuel had gone stale. *RadarRacing is correct that you don't want to leave alcohol in your vented fuel tank* On a cool Ohio night when I purge at the end of the day I can watch the fuel in my drain pan turn white within minutes from moisure in the air. jlevasseur
I try and keep it air tight and off the concrete. usually I try and leave it in the 55 gal drum and have the drum sit on some wood in the garage keeping it off the concrete.
