Thanks I use Permatex Moto Gasket Grey works good and it is not impossible to clean off if you need to rebuild. It does set up fairly fast so you need to be ready when you put it on. BANSHEE HP Posted October 26, 2011 Report Share Posted October 26, 2011 perma tex 518 anarobic sealer, wont harden up until the cases and tightend together, mates the surraces tighter then 1211 and yambond style sealers. in my own experience with it ive never had an airleak or even done a leak down test. On my gaskets I always use OEM gaskets and put them on dry. I have never had a problem with leaks doing it this way. As was mentioned, it is more important to have good clean, smooth, flat sufaces. By installing the gaskets dry, you stand a chance of reusing it if you have to pull something on the trail. good call, didnt think he was talking bout gaskets until i read the title again. i always put gaskets on dry. as mentioned, as long as your mating surfaces are clean and smooth, shouldn't have a leak.
