sum320
Hey guys, i have a low end bog on my banshee. It feels like im in too high of a gear for the speed that im going but im in first. Its not too bad, like as long as i my rpms are high enough when i shift to the next gear it runs great, its only when i slow down and srart going again. But anyway i have 28mm Keihin pwks with 140 main 45 pilot and needle in the middle notch. I have K&N clamp on filters and stock exhaust. My elevation is around 300 ft. I know i have to get a bigger pilot jet, but how much bigger? Thanks
700vflash
Could be a number of issue's. Carbs not synced, stock exhaust choking the engine or clogged low speed jet. I don't know how the stock exhaust will affect your jetting, but i'm sure it does.
sum320
Oh well Ive cleaned my carbs multiple times and I'm sure that my pilot isn't clogged. But how do you sync the pwks? Do you need that tool or can you just eyeball it? And i really don't like the stock ones i only have the expansion chambers of aftemarket ones so i can't use them. 700vflash
You need the tool to get them synced. The eye ball trick can get them close enough but not perfect (If your slides are even a sixteenth of an inch off from one another then that can throw off your throttle response). I know the stock pipes are usually the first thing to go on a banshee. If they are as restrictive as everyone says then they could be slowing air flow and creating a rich mixture and making you bog down. Also, 2strokes don't have much of a low end. I have 28's and started with a 160 main and a 48 pilot, now at 155 main and 45 pilot at sea level , running t5 pipes. All the jetting topics I have read with 28's have aftermarket pipes, so i'm not really sure what your jetting should be. Hope some of this helps! 700vflash
Also, when I got my 28's the floats had to be adjusted.
sum320
Oh alright how do you adjust the slides? Is that those idle adjustment screws? But yeah I know I need to get some silencers so i can throw those pipes on. I know they don't have too much low end but I just need some improvement haha.
