Yeah, you're going to need to get much better pictures. Take off the shock covers, and try to get a picture of where the shaft goes into the shock body. That's where I'll be able to identify the shock.

Im not familair with shocks but are they a run of the mill aftermarket single rates or are they pretty good single rates.

Also how would you compare Ohlins to Works or Elkas?

Are they pretty good to stay with or eventually will i want to go with dual rates i plan on getting a 2+1 a arms later on..... or is it all preference........

Alright, here's the deal with those shocks.

They are indeed VERY old Ohlins shocks. In all honesty, they probably aren't worth putting any time or money into. Not because they are bad shocks, just because parts are next to impossible to find. I JUST finished a set of those Ohlins that I had in my shop for nearly 8 months. Seal heads are not available for them, therefore I had to have custom seal heads manufactured (See the pictures below)

Internally, they are relatively sophisticated for their time. They use static valving, which is the same as Elka, and Axis. The piston they use, is abnormally small, though. It is a 26mm piston, VS a works 32mm piston.

If they aren't leaking, I wouldn't mess with them, but once they start leaking, get rid of them. They won't be worth fixing.

Thanks Matt, could you give me a rough estimate on what year they are?

They are not leaking, but they do squeal (im not sure what causes that)

They seem pretty good still (im no expert in the shock department though)

Another thing is.. would you go with Ohlins? Or do you prefer Elkas, etc.

Ill start looking into another set, single rate or dual rates?

I would go with either Axis, Elka, or Works. In that order. Dual rates. Don't waste the money on triples. Banshees are too front heavy. Triples are pointless. If you can find a good used ones that are triples, it won't hurt anything, there is just no reason to spend the extra money on triples if you're buying new.
