okbeast
Did you test what the positive and negative leads coming off the reg/rec were putting out? I just added a Trailtech reg/rec to my 250r and when I measure the leads when they are disconnected from the battery they are only putting out .7 volts. RPM didn't seem to matter any either. I was just wondering if hte reg/rec has to be hooked up to the battery to put out the correct 12 volts or what...

Well shit. I tested the reg/rec with it unhooked from the battery. Didn't really think about it being a bad thing. I'm gonna be awfully pissed if this screwed it up. Buckwheat
Along the same line, anyone have any pictures of the best place to mount a battery? What type of battery is the best to use in this application? Thanks, Wheat
Glenyboy
I mounted mine where the header tank was off of some L shaped brackets, I've got a Ktm battery in a Ktm 450 battery holder. The holder only cost me the equivalent of about $10 with the rubber to keep the battery locked in place, I've also seen people mount them behind the bumper. The battery is charging at 14 volts with the bike running, so I'd say I'm good to go.
