sandracer1986
I am going to be stretching and my stock frame and i need some opinions on how much to stretch it in the front and how long of a swinger to use. This past year I ran a stock frame with a +5 swinger and a 6 foot wheelie bar and i was hitting the bar so hard i was unloading my back tires. I was running a stock stroke drag ported motor and this year i will be going with a 4mil. Any suggestions or pics would be great thanks. BigRed350x
If your serious into the drag racing, I would invest in an aftermarket frame. Lighter and a lot higher quality than the stock frames could ever hope to be. There is a guy in one of the other sections who just did this to his with quite a few pics. Go do some searching and you can probably find it. Edited September 12, 2011 by BigRed350x

RadarRacing
Go long and just keep building more motor. LOL. No not really , usually 6 or 7 out the front is good for most and shouldnt require a universal join in the stem. Then if you are running a bar no more than 8 in the back. Lowering the bar will keep it from bouncing so badly. Dont know how far off the ground you had it. 3-4" is good.
n2otoofast4u
There are LOTS of people running that same combination in stock chassis with great success. You would be best to concentrate on chassis setup and remain with what you have until you can afford a full drag chassis. When that time comes I have one for sale. camatv
what i mean is if yoru going to build one just go out as far as you can afford. do a 14-20 stretch and keep the swing arm short. if you can afford a joint ( they are like 40 bones) and can afford the steel why screw around? sandracer1986
How short of a swinger like a +8 or10 why do you keep the rear short?
Jereme6655
more traction to the ground. the longer you go out the less the front end will come up on you......but there's just that much less weight over the axle.
