mike0chek
hey guys so my stator went bad on me and i just got done installing a brand new one from yamaha. now after getting it back together the bike started extremely hard about 50 kicks playing with the choke and throttle. once it was running it would idle pretty decent but when i hit the gas it didnt have that crisp response that it used to (feels like its bogging). the onlly thing i have done to the bike besides change the stator was put an adjustable timing plate on set to 4+ degrees ( the old plate was notched by previous owner and looked to be about 4+ degrees)
mike0chek
spark plugs have great spark and the pickup coil gap is .
rubberneck
did you set the pick up coil gap? should be 0.018" or if nothing else about the thickness of a business card.
mike0chek
yes i have it at .
Larry's Shee
Do you have TORS or parking brake switch? Set the gap at .018. Check all wireing. Check that nubs on flywheel are clean. Ohm new stator, new parts can be bad
rubberneck
Well like said maybe put the ohm meter on teh new one, check the wiring harness for any bad wires. If that doesnt work maybe check to make sure that the key didnt fall out while putting the flywheel on. That could cause the timiing to be way off
Jereme6655
Would it by chance be a ricky stator?
