RippinBansh11
Just ordered a R6 rear shock.. gonna be racin on the ice this winter and clay all next summer.. from what i hear the r6 rear shock works great for lowering the rear end and it performs pretty good too? Just wondering if there are any guys out there runnin that set up? If so i think the R6 shock requires a little fab work for it to work rite? Let me know exactly what the details are if you could! I wanna throw it on as soon as i get it! Thanks!

RippinBansh11
Anybody know anything about runnin' a R6 rear shock?
Concrete
I have ran the r6 rear for about two years now and has held up pretty well. I don't FT or do any ice racing but I have a 421 cub and it helps tremendously keep the front end down with the stock swinger. Even though I wouldn't recommend it, I ride open trails, drag and mild hillclimbs also to give you a picture of what it's been through. However, the stock shock bolts wont fit the r6. You either have to buy some from ebay or have a machinist make you some bushings so the stock shock bolts will mount with the r6 bushings. bbcmudtruck
Running stock front arms will work with the r6 shocks up front. However if you run +2 arms, they will make the geometry all goofy and it wont steer worth a shit. As far as running on it the rear, the bottom bushing needs to be machined out to run the stock banshee bolt. You would be fine running one for a tt or ice setup. Glenyboy
Does it not send the camber out? And don't you have to use one with a certain resi as one of them has no clearance? Thanks for the input! thats what i was looking for! i got the shock! looks pretty short! but pretty beefy! Im just runnin one in the rear on a -2 swinger, got Elka's up front. So the Top bushing is fine? just the bottom one needs some fabricating?
