Rotten-UK
Hello, Firstly what a great site you have here full of so much helpfull info! Iv learnt more flicking through acouple of threads in the last couple of days then i have picked up whilst owning my banshee for the last month... Im from Essex in the UK and picked up my 03 Banshee (registered as agricultural) from Ebay about a month ago for around £2000. It's pretty stock as far as i know but it runs ok, ive had no problems as yet and i use it every day on the road as my main means of transport. The only thing is i have been through afew spark plugs, some times it just starts running on one side and when i take the plug out its wet and blackish. It does clear up if i keep riding after a while, does this mean its running a little rich? It only seems to happen when i set the throttle so it will idle so i just have it set so it wont idle and its all good. Iv noticed theres afew uk riders on here do you all source your parts from the states? Iv been trying to find parts in the uk just for ease and so i dont have to pay massive shipping costs... if anyone could point out any uk stockists or what ever it'd be much appreciated. Im just after cosmetics really like decals, plastics & billet covers i dont want to change running parts at the mo iv still ALOT to learn about that 1st. Also are any of you uk riders on road on agricultural registered banshee's? Had any problems with police? I was thinking of going plg but free road tax and no mot makes life so much easier and iv had no hassel really yet. Thanks Edited August 24, 2011 by Rotten-UK
Larry's Shee
Welcome to BHQ !! Nice looking ride! First off you shouldn't idle any more than it takes to warm it up. What plugs, kind of oil and mix ratio are you running? Might try adjusting air screws a touch. LS3 Machine
Welcome to BHQ! If u are following the owners manual for fuel oil mix, it's to much oil, and will lead to fouled plugs. 32:1 to 40:1 seems to be about what most people here use and recommend. If you are already at 32:1 to 40:1, then you maybe bit rich.

You might need your carb cleaned, and possibly re-jetted. There are lots of threads about those 2 subjects here with new people needing carb setup advise. Check out the threads by new people in the jetting forum, there are some good pointers there. Or just start a thread asking questions. Good Luck and keep us posted. Rotten-UK
Thanks for the welcome guys. She was feeling alil sluggish off the throttle and sounding alil "boggy" for a sec before the power came on, from what i gather from the little reading iv done thats also a sign its rich? so i adjusted the mixer screw to one and a half turns, i think it was at about two and a bit turns i shoulda checked really 1st b4 moving it d'oh... It revs right up now no bogging or choking when i whack the throttle back but seems to have less pull/ power through the gears. Is it just a case of getting the mix screw set right or is this something i need to fix by getting new size jets?
BUILDER
What elevation are you at and are you running the air box still or not? If you tell us your elevation and what mods are done to it besides the pipes we can give you an idea of what jet size you should be at. Enjoy the bike and the site!!! vifferman
I just wish we could ride our shee to work & around town. Both my Banshees are street legal here in Tucson, AZ. Just had to ad a horn and mirror. They aren't great on the street but it's still fun and I get all kinds of looks.
springer
nice lookin biike ya got there. i like it. i know you said you were only after cosmetics, but read about modifying or swapping your timing plate to be able to adjust your timing. it is either cheap or really cheap and makes a noticable difference in power. another worth while mod that is cheap is reeds. that'll give ya a couple things to read about and jumpstart your addiction. good luck. Roughly from 16ft to 300ft, its stock as far as i know, yes iv still got the air box on but im gonna have to take it off and get some new filters. I noticed today the tapping or what ever you call it had pulled out of the bolt holes on both sides in the middle of the pipes and they had move alil and melted into the sides and on one side the front of the air box. Where its been sat on the front theres a screw and thats managed to make a hole in the pipe... so now iv gotta re tap the threads, get the pipe welded and change the air filter system.
